Research interests

Brain-Computer interfaces and their rehabilitative potential for psychiatric and neurological problems had sparked his interest even before he was awarded his Master’s degree in Computer Science from University of Tübingen. He started working at the Insitute of Medical Psychology and Behavioral Neurobiology at University of Tübingen as a student assistant and continued as a research assistant and PhD student.

His main research interests are the identification and evaluation of neural correlates and markers of motor rehabilitation as an important building block of the next generation of efficient stroke rehabilitation. He uses statistical models, real-time signal processing and machine learning to tackle challenges in this interesting field. As a computer scientist, the development of software for laboratory environments and stroke rehabilitation in particular is also a vital part of his work. Recently, he has included studying gamification in rehabilitation into his research interests.
